Jay Shidler, the company's founder, was a close friend to Urano in the eighties and gave him total creative freedom during the early years of the company's history. Their close working relationship helped Urano to maintain a balance between creative freedom and discipline in visual explorations.

One of Urano's works was named by Shidler "Perspective Defined," which seems to reflect Shidler's own business philosophy.
